Access! West LA Outdoor Sculpture Guide.
Art Muse Academy created the Access! Guide to encourage the public to experience art in outdoor spaces where access to it is free and safe. Highlights are drawn from Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden at UCLA, Beverly Gardens Park, & various locations in Century City, where the public can experience sculptures by celebrated artists, including Henri Matisse, Claire Falkenstein, Richard Hunt, Jun Kaneko, Roxy Paine, Jaume Plensa, & Ai Weiwei.
Informative, immersive, and inclusive, our guide provides access for all people:
The project was initiated in January 2021 with the idea of creating an art guide to encourage the public to make better use of sculptures found in outdoor spaces where access is free and safe.
Outdoor sculptures provide some of our most accessible encounters with art.
The Access! Guide encourages the public to safely enjoy art in outdoor spaces.
Access! also provides accessible engagement with art for all Angelenos as well as visitors to our city.
Additionally, participants using the guide, learn about the unique history of the West LA neighborhoods through visits to the outdoor art venues.
Informative, engaging guides, offered in a variety of formats for online and print, are designed to provide access for all people with detailed verbal descriptions for the visually impaired and identifying artworks that can be easily approached for those participants with mobility issues.
Ultimately, our Access! Guide celebrates the public art found in our parks and open spaces.
Our Access! Guide is created through donations. If you would like to donate to Art Muse Academy, all donations are tax deductible under 501(c)3 arts education charity.
